| Step back in time as you go under the Blue Ridge Parkway and down the road to the small community of Triplett just below Boone. Leave the paved road and drive through this beautiful mountain valley on approximately two miles of gravel roads until you see the peaceful and quaint Elk Cabin. Nestled between mountain slopes, a trout stream on one side and blueberry bushes and a gazebo in the back yard, Elk Cabin is a wonderful place for the hiker, camper, or horseback rider. Hike all day and come home to this charming two bedroom cabin. The original wood plank floor scattered with beautiful oriental rugs and tasteful furnishings adds to the natural warmth provided by the gas and wood burning stoves. Imagine waking to the sounds of rain on the roof and never hearing a car, train, or the business of everyday life. It is truly a serene place to feel and enjoy of the peacefulness of nature. Lie in bed and imagine bygone days when a family of twelve was raised in this cozy cabin. The cabin can accommodate six if using the futon on sleeping porch in warmer months. |
